Regional Assistance Program Released
The Department of Commerce, Brand MT division, has implemented the Regional Assistance Grant Program (RAP). The program is intended to assist the Regional Nonprofit Tourism Corporations (Regions) and Convention and Visitor Bureaus (CVBs) to build additional capacity, coordinate with the department’s Brand MT Division on tourism strategies, collectively develop and enhance Rural and under-visited tourism opportunities, including asset development and collaborative promotion, to increase visitor commerce and generate community revenue for the benefit of local economies.
Only Tourism Advisory Council-recognized CVBs are allowed to apply for the program. Currently, three of Yellowstone Country’s designated CVBs qualify as under-visited based on a 3-year average of bed tax collections, which falls under $75,000 as assessed by the most recent TAC-approved marketing plan.
