Community Meeting, Livingston

One of our priorities for the Resiliency Steering Committee this upcoming year is to get out into our communities to present our strategic plan and elicit input about which initiatives would be the most beneficial and effective. Our first meeting will be June 6 at the Shane Center in Livingston. Guest speakers include Heather McDowell from Selby Stillwater Mine and Sonja Nowakowski from Montana Department of Environmental Quality. It's a brown bag lunch from noon-1:30 p.m., and we'd love to have you join us! Please RSVP and feel free to share with your tourism partners.

Mountain Neighbor Handbook

Borrowing an idea from the Teton Conservation District in Jackson Hole, WY, we're beginning to gather content for a Mountain Neighbor Handbook, a guide for new residents about living in a mountain town. It includes living with wildlife, respecting the land, responsible recreation, and preparedness for natural disasters like wildfire and extreme weather. We'll provide them to regional title companies to share with new homeowners. We’ve heard that the project has been well received in Jackson. We’re also planning to create an abbreviated version with similar content for visitors.
